Moving on up and in at UC Davis Photo Contest
Dorm move-in weekend (9/17/11-9/18/11) at Davis is an exciting, nerve-wracking, life changing time. Many folks can be found who have just graduated from high school and are leaving the nest for the very first time. So it is time for “Moving on up and in at UC Davis” with the UC Davis Store TechHub.

The UC Davis Bookstore TechHub recently held a photo contest using our Facebook page. The theme of the contest; “How Do You See Davis?” We asked people to show the rest of the world Davis through their eyes, using the wonder of digital photography. These photos were then voted on by fans of the TechHub Facebook page, which will then be voted on in person by those who visit the TechHub during Picnic Day (4/16/2011). So take a look at the top five after the break.

Congratulations Eileen Asevedo! Winner of the TechHub’s “Name that Tune” contest at the Buzz 2010. And what did she win? An iPod nano and a pair of the awesome SkullCandy Hesh Headphones. A fitting prize for someone who knows their music.

On October 15th, the TechHub held the SkullCandy “Headphones For Your Dead-Phones” event at the shop. To participate, you had to bring in a pair of your old broken down headphones and trade up to a pair of SkullCandy Icon headphones. The event started at 11AM on the dot, but we had people showing up to wait well before that time. Once the event kicked off, we wound up trading all of the headphones we had in about 20 minutes. Thank you to those who participated in the Buzz 2009 TechHub event. It was great playing “Blackjack” with everyone that evening. We posted the names of the winners of the raffle that we held, and the winner of the ASUS 1005HA Netbook has claimed their prize. So congratulations to Jennifer Nguyen. We hope you enjoy it!

So, it is April 3, 2009. That means, sadly, the “I Spotted Jimmie Johnson” contest has come to a close. And so, on April 1, we drew a name from our hopper to win the MobileEdge Edge Messenger bag. (And by hopper, I mean my lunch pail…all very scientific. What can I say, I am on a budget and it was the only container I had on me.) So without further ado…congratulations Sylvia Wright!
