Yeah, this is from Windows, but you get the idea...
Lately, many folks on the Internet have been speculating that Apple is heading toward a diskless world. With the recent release of the new Mac Mini (which lacks an optical drive) and the fact that OS X 10.7 is available ONLY on the Mac App Store, it is not hard to see why people are thinking this, and you can count me as one of those folks as well. But the real question is, “Is this a good thing”?

Mathcad 13 on Vista???
I will be honest, while we sold the student license version of Mathcad 13 at the TechHub, I really don’t think many of us…all right, more like any of us…really knew much about the product. We know it is used for mathematical analysis, but that is pretty much the extent of our knowledge. But one question kept popping up here that we figured we should probably look into because it was being asked a lot. “Will Mathcad 13 run on Vista?”

A lot has happened in the world of technology this week. Adobe announced their Creative Suite 5 on Monday. Apple announced their new MacBook Pro line on Tuesday. And in between it all, Apple revised their iPhone SDK (Software Development Kit) agreement, effectively killing what people have been clamoring for on their iPhone/iPod Touch. UC Davis Bookstore Grad Faire 2010
The time is coming yet again…grad time. Many will be leaving the hallowed confines that are known as UC Davis and venturing out amongst the free world to stake their claim. Before they do though, they really should head to the UC Davis Bookstore Grad Faire 2010 (March 10th, 2:00PM – 6:00PM) to see what kinds of goodies they can get before they call it quits.

The Holidays at the TechHub
Finals are over and the stress of school is gone for a few weeks. Now is the time to pack up and head home during this period to visit the family for the holidays. That’s when it hits you, “I never did any holiday shopping. What am I going to do?” And let’s face it, as a college student you probably don’t have much disposable income lying around to purchase these gifts with. So why don’t you just head over to the UC Davis Bookstore TechHub and put those gifts on your student account. And while you are there, pick something up for yourself and tell the folks it was a book you needed for class…

On October 15th, the TechHub held the SkullCandy “Headphones For Your Dead-Phones” event at the shop. To participate, you had to bring in a pair of your old broken down headphones and trade up to a pair of SkullCandy Icon headphones. The event started at 11AM on the dot, but we had people showing up to wait well before that time. Once the event kicked off, we wound up trading all of the headphones we had in about 20 minutes.
