EndNote is a very popular program on the UC Davis campus and we know that many of you now have it in your possession. Along with the recent release of EndNote X4, both Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 and Microsoft Office 2010 for Windows have been released pretty recently as well. If you have both of these programs, you might find yourself with some compatibility issues. Read on after the break for more details.

So what kind of “compatibility issues” might there be? Well, Word 2011 for Mac is currently not compatible at this time with X4. A patch is to be issued later by the EndNote folks. Just register you copy of EndNote to be informed when the patch is ready for download.

If you are trying to use EndNote X4 with your 64-bit Word 2010, you will be unable to do so at this time. Again, if you register your software with EndNote and you will be notified when the free update for is available to rectify this issue. For all other notes about compatibility for current and previous versions of EndNote, just visit this web site.
