Well…Apple’s “Buy a Mac, Get a Free iPod Touch” promotion ended yesterday. What are they going to do now? The answer is simple! Introduce new iPods! That’s right folks, at today’s “It’s Only Rock And Roll, But We Like It” music event, Apple unveiled a few things it had up its sleeve. The Internet was ablaze with rumors of what these new toys would be. Quite a few of these rumors turned out to be true, and some turned out to be not so true (Mac Tablet, I am looking at you). Anyway, let’s take a look at what went down at the event.

In the UC Davis Bookstore TechHub, we are constantly being asked questions on how to do things. An example of one of these questions happens to be today’s “How-To”, how do you take a screenshot with Mac OS X? Almost everyone knows how to do this simple function on a Windows machine. They were kind enough to put the button for it right on your keyboard, the Print Screen button. Hit that, go to MS Paint, right click and paste. Voila, a screenshot of your desktop. But with an Apple computer, there is no Print Screen button conveniently located on your keyboard. So what do you do?

When I first decided to use a Mac to create a song, I decided to use the GarageBand application basically because I had some experience with it and I had found it very easy to use. In addition, I didn’t need to spend money on costly mixing software since it came standard with my MacBook Pro as part of iLife ’08.
