Tech Support?

Time to exit, stage left…

I have had an incredible time writing these blogs over the last couple of years. While I have never actually managed to get a good schedule down for writing them on a consistent basis, I always enjoyed getting some time set aside to do so. So it is with a heavy heart that I inform the regular readers of the TechTalk blog that as of now, there will be no longer be any updates to it for the foreseeable future. We will leave the page up though, for anyone who still has lingering questions about any of the “How-To” articles we have written, or just want to watch one of our videos again. So thank you all very much for just reading my (and my colleagues’) articles, it has been a pleasure.

People milling around the Apple Booth at Macworld 2009

People milling around the Apple Booth at Macworld 2009

We came, we saw, we went home. Sadly, this year’s Macworld didn’t seem to have the excitement in the air that even last year’s Macworld had. (This year’s Macworld and last year’s Macworld are the only shows that I have had the honor of attending.) Last year there was an extreme interest in the brand new MacBook Air, so the show floor was buzzing with excitement. This year, it seemed like even Apple knew that they really didn’t have any BIG thing at the show, as they were still heavily touting the “new” iPod Nano…you know…the one they released in September of last year.

I am definitely not saying that Apple didn’t have anything to show. Continue reading

Several of us at the UC Davis Bookstore TechHub are headed to Macworld today. Webisode 2 of the podcast will be filmed there, and I am sure a couple of us will get back to everyone with our thoughts on the event.

The ever infamous Apple Keynote speech has come and gone. No Mac Mini (as many speculated), no iPhone nano (as many also speculated), and very sadly, no Steve Jobs. Love him or hate him, when you think of an Apple Keynote speech, you can’t help but think of that black turtleneck and the man who wore them. And for the last Apple Keynote speech, I would have to say, it was relatively lackluster. Perhaps this is why Steve decided not to deliver the speech himself…hmmmm…
